Acclaimed for “a deeply sensitive playing, sweetness of sound, dexterity and elegant phrasing” (The Strad Magazine, London), Anne Robert plays regularly as a chamber musician and has given many recitals, travelling to France, England, Norway, Switzerland, Belgium, the United States and Asia. She has also performed as a soloist with various Canadian orchestras, particularly the Montreal Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Charles Dutoit. Her repertory is vast and eclectic, showing a marked interest in French music. She has recorded over twenty-five CDs including first editions of lesser-known works by composers such as Théodore Dubois, Huré, Lazzari, Tournemire and Vierne.

Anne Robert studied violin with Taras Gabora at the Conservatoire de musique du Québec in Montréal, where she won First Prize, summa cum laude, in violin and in chamber music. She completed her studies with Manoug Parikian at the Royal Academy of Music in London, which awarded her its highest distinction, the Recital Diploma, and then with the legendary Josef Gingold at the University of Indiana, where she earned the prestigious Artist Diploma. She has also been a pupil of Menahem Pressler, Janos Starker, György Sebök and Otto Joachim in chamber music. Many times holder of grants from the Québec and Canada arts councils she has been recognized for her talent and contributions to the musical world by being awarded a career development grant by the Canada Council for the Arts.

Anne Robert has been First Violin with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra for twelve years, artistic director of the Maison Trestler Summer Music Festival in Vaudreuil-Dorion for seven years, co-director of the Lower Laurentians Summer Music Festival for four years, and Professor at the Conservatoire de musique du Québec à Montréal and at the Music Department of the University of Montreal since 1996. She regularly gives masterclasses and frequently serves on juries, notably for the Montreal International Music Competition and the Tibor Varga (Switzerland) International Music Competition.
